Job Description Includes: - Working in various places to prepare Boundary, Topographic, ALTA and Construction layout surveys
- Ability to interpret field information and the awareness to help prepare a survey of premises.
- Operating Topcon GPS and Total Stations to collect site information (we have incorporated Topcon Brand Instruments)
- Ability to learn on the job from others with experience in surveying
- Process field data and upload files to CAD system in the office and perform basic CAD drafting to draft field drawing of site.
- Extended hours while on site may be necessary to complete surveys on a timely basis.
- Maintain field equipment and trucks stocked and in good, clean condition
- Report to work to join your daily field crew team
- When work load is slow, ability to step in and do miscellaneous proactive tasks such as cleaning and washing work vans, tying lath, sweeping and washing garage floors
Qualifications: - Prior use of, or knowledge of, survey grade GPS equipment and Total stations is preferred, but not required
- 2 years field surveying experience or Land Surveying degree preferred, but not necessary.
- Positive mental attitude
- Basic math skills
- Enjoy working outside in all the elements and terrain year round
- Ability to work well with crew members and office personnel
- Basic computer knowledge and abilities
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, ability to swing 8 pound maul while on-site staking, ice and snow removal, bending, carrying equipment or supplies and the ability to walk long distances and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to travel, including occasional overnight stays, if necessary
- Valid Minnesota Drivers License. A motor vehicle report will run prior to employment
